WILLING WORKERS COMMITTEE

The Willing Workers re-organized September of 2002, and meet the first Tuesday of every month. (Please see calendar for times.)

ST. MATTHEW'S WILLING WORKERS COMMITTEE

The Willing Workers Committee organizes functions such as pizza coupon sales, spaghetti dinners, bazaars, flea markets, soup sales, craft and bake sales, etc.  With the profits, we help St. Matthew's with the Oil Fund and Building Fund as well as "wish-list" items not included in the church budget. We also have helped neighbors in need in the event of a tragedy. We have an annual Halloween Party for all ages, we visit the shut-ins at Christmastime, serve luncheons for funerals, and organize and serve the Congregational Thanksgiving Dinner to name a few of our regular activities. In the past, the Willing Workers have also purchased an Organist gown and white albs for the Acolytes and Crucifers. Our most recent project was replacing the carpeting in the Narthex, in memoriam to Joan Sheckler, valued friend and past President of the Willing Workers for many years.

We are always willing to help where ever we are needed and willing to do whatever is needed to keep the church functioning smoothly. Come and join us, the fellowship is great!!  The officers for 2009-2010 are as follows:

President:  Jerri Vanage; Vice-President: Judy Wade; Co-Secretaries: Carol Behler and Nadine Yeakel; Treasurer: Melissa Ebbert; Sunshine person: Evelyn Diehl.

Any of the officers may be reached through the church office at (610) 377-2972 or by email at stmattlc@ptd.net.

WORSHIP & MUSIC COMMITTEE

The worship committee carries out its mission with the idea in mind that worship is a unifying event in the life of the congregation. It is the one time when all members join together in a common purpose-to worship and thank God for God's grace given to all in Word and Sacrament. Worship connects all parish programs and committees: evangelism, stewardship, education, property, music, youth, seniors, social ministry, fellowship, and more.

The committee is responsible for planning worship, choosing hymns, scheduling lay worship participants, making recommendations to the church council regarding worship, coordinating seasonal decorating, receiving feedback from the congregation, and evaluating regular worship services and special events.

Members on the committee include the parish pastor, the minister of music, and several other members representing the congregation. The committee normally meets in the church on the 2nd Monday of every month at 7 p.m. New members are always welcome.

The Worship & Music Committee is chaired by Ms. Lisa Everett.
